New Construction

Last item for navigation

College Station's New Construction Program provides income-qualified residents ownership opportunities in many parts of the City. The City supports non-profit affordable housing development through its partnerships with Community Housing Development Organizations and Habitat for Humanity. The City works with these organizations to build a high-quality product that reinforces neighborhood integrity. The construction of new affordable housing units is carried out using HOME grant funds. To learn more about the Program, please review the Frequently Asked Questions.

If you are interested in purchasing a home, please apply to the Downpayment Assistance Program. Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDO)

There are currently two CHDOs working with the City - Brazos Valley Community Action Programs and Elder-Aid, Inc. The organizations receive funds to carry out affordable housing activities in College Station, including new construction, acquisition, or rehabilitation. These homes or rental units are made available to eligible low- or moderate-income households in College Station.

If your organization is interested in becoming a CHDO for the City of College Station and eligible for affordable housing grants, please contact the Community Development office at 979.764.3778.
