City hall groundbreaking set for Thursday
Posted on 02/26/2020
A groundbreaking ceremony for the future College Station City Hall will be Thursday at 3 p.m. in the parking lot near the south end of the existing building.
The ceremony will feature remarks from Mayor Karl Mooney and City Manager Bryan Woods, and will mark the beginning of a project that is expected to be completed in 2022.

The future city hall — a three-story, 79,000-square-foot structure featuring elements reminiscent of the train depots that helped College Station evolve from a rail stop at A&M College of Texas to an incorporated city — will be constructed behind the existing city hall, which was dedicated in 1969.

The new city hall will unite dozens of departments and hundreds of city staff under one roof for citizen convenience. It was designed by Kirksey Architecture and is being constructed by CORE Construction.
