Celebrating Juneteenth by remembering Lincoln High

With Friday commemorating the sesquicentennial of Juneteenth, it’s fitting that we also celebrate the 40th anniversary of College Station’s Lincoln Recreation Center. Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States, and it started in Texas.

As part of that celebration, let’s look back at the proud history of what began as Lincoln High School.
