Atmos Infrastructure Work Along Lincoln

Atmos Energy is installing new infrastructure along the south side of Lincoln Avenue from just north of Grand Oaks Drive to Texas Avenue. The line replaces existing infrastructure along University Drive serving the Texas A&M campus.

The new alignment is needed due to significant encroachments over and around the pipeline, making access and maintenance difficult. The project is expected to be completed by mid-May ahead of the city’s Lincoln Rehabilitation project, which is projected to start in June.

The work could periodically affect traffic along Lincoln, but no lane or street closures are planned. Portions of the eastbound lane will narrow daily in the construction areas. Drivers are encouraged to use caution and pay attention to traffic cones, barriers, and signage.
