New rail crossing at Deacon scheduled to open on Jan. 9

The City of College Station and Union Pacific Railroad are scheduled to open the new rail crossing at Deacon Drive along Wellborn Road after the traffic signal is activated on Tuesday, Jan. 9. The Cain Road rail crossing will permanently close.

The Wellborn and Rock Prairie Road signal will also be activated and the old poles removed on Jan. 9.

Drivers can expect intermittent traffic delays in the area throughout the day, and access to the Cain Road and Deacon rail crossings will be unavailable.
